Areas I can help with
Hypno-CBT for adults combines the structured, evidence-based techniques of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with the deep relaxation and subconscious work of hypnotherapy. For adults, this integrative approach can be especially powerful, helping to reduce stress, manage anxiety, and break unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour. It encourages both conscious understanding and subconscious change, supporting lasting emotional resilience and personal growth. Many adults find that Hypno-CBT not only helps them overcome specific challenges but also enhances overall wellbeing and confidence.
Chronic pain can be deeply challenging, affecting both body and mind. It often continues long after an injury or illness has healed, and can be linked to conditions such as arthritis, nerve damage, or stress-related tension. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy can both play powerful roles in managing chronic pain. CBT helps to identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that can intensify pain perception, while hypnotherapy supports relaxation, reduces stress, and helps the mind and body work together for healing. Through these approaches, individuals can learn new ways to respond to pain, regain a sense of control, and improve overall wellbeing.
Anxiety is a psychological and physiological state identified by excessive worry, tension, and heightened arousal of the nervous system. It may present with symptoms such as restlessness, rapid heartbeat, muscle tension, and difficulty concentrating. Anxiety disorders can develop as a result of genetic, environmental, or psychological factors, and may be maintained by unhelpful thought patterns or learned responses to stress. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy are evidence-based approaches that can help reduce anxiety by addressing both the conscious and subconscious processes that contribute to it. CBT focuses on identifying and restructuring maladaptive thoughts, while hypnotherapy supports relaxation and promotes positive behavioural change. Together, they can help restore emotional balance and improve overall mental wellbeing.
IBS Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a functional gastrointestinal disorder that affects the communication between the brain and the digestive system, often leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, and altered bowel habits. It is thought to result from a combination of factors including gut hypersensitivity, stress, and changes in the gut–brain axis. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and gut-directed hypnotherapy are evidence-based approaches that can help manage IBS symptoms by addressing both psychological and physiological aspects. CBT helps individuals identify and modify stress-related thought patterns that may exacerbate symptoms, while hypnotherapy promotes deep relaxation and supports healthy regulation of gut activity. Together, these therapies can reduce symptom severity and enhance overall quality of life.
Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterized by persistent difficulty in initiating or maintaining sleep, or by experiencing non-restorative sleep despite adequate opportunity for rest. It can be acute, lasting for a short period, or chronic, occurring at least three nights per week for three months or more. Common causes include stress, anxiety, depression, certain medications, and lifestyle factors such as irregular sleep schedules or excessive caffeine intake. Prolonged insomnia can lead to daytime fatigue, impaired concentration, mood disturbances, and increased risk of other health conditions. Effective treatment often involves identifying underlying causes, improving sleep hygiene, and, where necessary, medical or cognitive-behavioural interventions.
Online therapy offers the same therapeutic benefits as face-to-face sessions, with research showing that the outcomes are equally effective. It provides flexibility and convenience, allowing individuals to access support from the comfort of their own home, which can reduce stress and make it easier to fit therapy into a busy lifestyle. For many adults, online sessions also create a sense of safety and privacy that encourages openness and engagement. Whether delivered in person or online, the most important factor is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, and that connection can flourish beautifully through virtual sessions.
